Editorial Manager™ is an online submission and review system. Authors should submit manuscripts and track their progress through the system, hopefully to publication. Reviewers can download manuscripts and submit their opinions to the editor. Editors can manage the whole submission/review/revise/publish process. Publishers can see what manuscripts are in the pipeline awaiting publication. Email is sent automatically to appropriate parties when significant events occur. For this reason it is very important users supply a current and functioning email address.

In order to access the Editorial Manager™ System, please click the "Register" button from the menu at the top, and enter the requested information.
Before submission

Information and Software Technology publishes high quality and novel research papers.

Please utilize our checklist to ensure your paper fulfills the basic quality requirements for submitting a paper

A submitted paper must not be under parallel review. In the event that this is detected, the paper will be automatically rejected without feedback and the relevant journal/conference(s) informed.

Scope of journal new

Information and Software Technology is the international archival journal focusing on research and experience that contributes to the improvement of software development practices. It covers methods and techniques to more effectively and efficiently engineer and manage software.

Please note that this scope has been updated (November 2006) and we no longer solicit papers that deal primarily with performance, security, networks, e-commerce or databases unless there is a significant software engineering content.

If you are in doubt please contact one of the editors for a more detailed discussion. We are happy to assist.

Presently (2007), the IST acceptance rate is approximately 30% and the average time to first decision is approximately 120 days. IST is a widely accessed journal with more than 90,000 full paper downloads in 2007.
